Skill Levels

We offer a variety of classes designed to guide you with your current projects, to engage your creativity or to challenge your stitching skills with new and interesting techniques.  Students at all skill levels, from very beginning to intermediate and advanced, will find something to tempt them!  So you can get the most out of our classes, our project descriptions include pre-requisite skills.

Beginner

If you are brand new to needlepoint, need a skill refresher, or want an introduction to pattern stitches, we offer a Private Lesson format.  We can tailor our instruction to match your progress.

Advanced Beginner - Technique

Build your pattern stitch repertoire by attending our technique classes.  There is no painted canvas to purchase – class price includes teacher fees and class materials fees such as stitch guides or books, blank 18 mesh mono canvas and threads.  We encourage students to bring a stitching frame and a laying tool to class.

Intermediate and Advanced

Once you’re comfortable with pattern stitches, you may want to expand your knowledge and refine your skills by taking a painted canvas project class with stitch guide instruction.  These classes will introduce you to new threads, new pattern stitches and new canvas embellishment techniques that are fun and challenging.  Class fees include teacher fees, canvas, stitch guide, threads and stretcher bars.  Canvases will be mounted and ready for stitching at the first session.  We recommend students bring a stitching frame and a laying tool to class.

Registration

Registration is fast and easy.  We can take your registration in person or over the phone.  To secure your place in Studio and Canvas Embellishment classes, all we need is the class fee.  For all project classes, we need your non-refundable payment for the class fee and canvas, plus your credit card on file for the Project Kit (threads, stitch guide and stretcher bars) which will be charged separately.  If desired, please order Evertite stretcher bars at this time as well (10% discount).  We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover as well as cash and checks.

Class Materials

We’ll provide you with a Class Information Sheet that lists the materials included in the class as well as any class preparation instructions or additional supplies.  We will have your canvas mounted onto stretcher bars, ready to start stitching at the first class session.   Standard stretcher bars are included in each class kit, but if you prefer Evertites, please purchase them at registration.

CLASS BONUS:  We offer our students a 10% discount on Evertite stretcher bars for class projects (T-tool is additional @ $7.00).  If sizes are not in stock, please allow at least 2 weeks for any Evertite special orders.

Cancellation Policies

3 Kittens Needle Arts reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class.  If the class is cancelled, deposits will be fully refunded in the form of original payment.

If a student cancels for any reason, needlepoint class fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another class.  Any canvas or threads ordered for that student are also non-refundable.

Beginning Needlepoint - Private Lesson                  $25

Beginning Needlepoint Project Kit                                                $45

Relax and learn to needlepoint one-on-one in a private lesson!  We can adjust the pace to meet your level of comfort and skill.  You will learn how to begin and end a thread, plus the basic tent stitch in continental and basketweave.  Instructor will discuss threads and how to read the canvas.

OPTIONAL: This canvas can also be used to learn some beginning pattern stitches. Please discuss with instructor if you prefer to learn pattern stitches on this canvas in a private lesson format.

Stitch this bright and colorful palm tree to expand your needlepoint knowledge. You will learn 7 decorative stitches called "sister stitches" - stitches that are similar but a bit different. Each decorative stitch builds on what you learned in the previous one. Compensation is already painted on the canvas, so no guess work! The use of a laying tool is an integral part of pattern stitching and will need to be purchased separately (available at 3 Kittens).

If you love the idea of stitching one of your “works in progress” in the company of other stitchers, then these classes are for you!  Join a group of students who share your interests and get help from an experienced instructor with a challenging pattern stitch or to start a new project.

Class fee due at registration.
